La Toscana aumenta il numero di atleti che parteciperanno alle prossime olimpiadi in terra inglese: Daniele Meucci ha infatti ottenuto il pass nell'atletica, sulla distanza dei 10.000 metri. L'atleta - classe 1985 - ha ottenuto conquistato il minimo "A" olimpico (già ottenuto nel 2011) richiesto dalla Federazione per volare a Londra. L'azzurro, con il tempo 27:32.86, ha collezionato anche la migliore prestazione europea del 2012, arrivando quarto nella prova disputata a Palo Alto.
